Community Benefit

Environmental and Community Benefit

Investing in DRES delivers a positive ethical, carbon saving, environmental and community return, enabling Members to make a real contribution to the development of renewable energy and to Scotland's and the UK’s response to climate change and energy security.

Any financial surplus made by DRES after meeting expenses, building prudent and appropriate reserves, paying Share Interest and the planned share redemptions to Members, is intended to support its work in reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable living.  The funds will be used to support local projects within Dundee.  The current financial projections indicate an amount of the order of £1.4 million for the community over the 25 year life of the project.
